A while ago, I composed an instrumental track called “Santa Claus Is Coming.”
It was made for a Christmas-themed competition. I didn’t win. No trophy, no spotlight moment, no dramatic victory speech.
And honestly? I’m completely fine with that.
Because this piece turned into something I genuinely love.
The idea was simple: capture that slightly magical, slightly nostalgic Christmas feeling — the kind that lives somewhere between childhood memories, cold nights, warm lights, and that quiet excitement you feel when the year is about to end. No lyrics, no big story being told with words. Just sound, mood, and atmosphere.
While working on it, I wasn’t trying to be flashy or overly clever. I just wanted it to feel right. Cozy, playful, a little cinematic, and unmistakably Christmas. Something you could imagine playing softly in the background while snow falls outside… or at least while you pretend it’s snowing.
Competitions are strange things. You submit a piece of yourself, wait, hope a bit, and then life moves on. Sometimes you win, sometimes you don’t. But the funny part is this: long after the competition ends, the music stays. And this track stayed with me.
Even now, when I listen back to Santa Claus Is Coming, it still puts me in that same headspace I had while composing it. That alone makes it worth it.
So this post isn’t about winning or losing. It’s just me sharing a piece of music I’m proud of — a small Christmas world I built with notes instead of words.
If it makes you feel even a tiny bit of that holiday warmth, then it’s already done its job. 🎄✨
